Kia Ora =)

Sorry for not updating earlier but I couldn’t seem to get the wifi working on my laptop. All good now though 🙂

I arrived to Auckland on the 20th of January and checked in at Econo Lodge City Centre. Very clean room and super comfy bed. There were two downsides though. The wifi was free up to 200mb OR 24 hours. Mine ended quite quick but I didn’t bother to pay for more since I was just staying 1 night. The second thing was that there was music playing outside so I didn’t get much sleep event though I used earplugs. BUT, being so centrally located it was all fine for 1 night.

I started my afternoon with a walk to Wynyard Quarter but there was so much construction work going on so it was super boring. I quickly continued to Viaduct Harbour which I loved!! It’s such a cosy area by the harbour (obviously) with plenty of restaurants and bars. Most of them facing the water. I had dinner at Fokker Bros which apparently has Auckland’s best hamburgers. I had the falafel burger with sweet potato fries, yummy!

After my dinner I continued walking through Britomart and Queen Street which is mostly shops. And from there I went to the Sky Tower. I thought that a clear sky couldn’t offer anything but a good sunset =) At the entrance there was a man and a young boy just before me, getting their tickets and that man had some kind of silver membership card at the casino so he had free entrance for 3 people, guess who the lucky third person was 😀 Yay me! I didn’t have to pay NZD29 to get in, all free! It was so kind of him 😀 We had access to 3 floors so that was really nice. I went to the top floor when the sun would set and oh what a view ❤ That was a perfect way to end my evening in Auckland.

A little bit scary with the see through floor so high up haha

I’m now in Paihia, spending my last night here and then heading back for Auckland for 1 night only. I’m traveling with Kiwi Experience which is a bus company that do trips all over New Zealand. What’s so amazing with them is that we can book tours and accommodations through the bus driver who is also a tour guide. And we get everything discounted. I love it so far 🙂

A new update on Paihia tomorrow I hope!!

See ya
