Australian animals

Hi everybody!

I’m so happy I finished all my assessments and researches today! They’re all due Tuesday-Thursday next week. All I have to do now is practice like crazy for my presentations but that’s fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow, over to something fun! I was talking to my sister today and we reminisced her visit here in Australia. Laughed so much! My sister was exposed to some fun moments with animals/reptiles/insects haha. We saw quite a lot during those 2,5 weeks. And so, I told her about all the animals/reptiles/insects and so on I’ve seen during my 9 months here. Thought I’d share it with you guys ๐Ÿ™‚ unfortunately I don’t have photos of all but the ones I have I’ll share. And by the way, I’m only talking wild animals now. Obviously I’ve been to 2 zoos and seen plenty of others but wild ones are more interesting ๐Ÿ™‚

Sea creatures:

Whales, blue bottle jellyfish  (no photos)

This is a little dolphin I got to feed in Tin Can Bay ๐Ÿ™‚

This is blue blubber jellyfish I spotted at Stradbroke Island. I have a photo of them in the ocean too but it’s hard to see them.

Some fish during my snorkeling ๐Ÿ™‚

And a sea turtle (not taken by me but from my snorkeling)

Okay, I’m not mentioning boring stuff like flies and so. We’re talking creepy things like SPIDERS!!! These are only some of the many I’ve seen. Huhu

I’ve seen frogs/toads (can’t see the difference) and some are actually very dangerous here. Well of course, is there anything that isn’t?

I’ve seen 2 snakes only whereas one was very, very dangerous. Our tour guide said: if it bites you, you wouldn’t even make it with helicopter. This is the venomous one, if you can see it ๐Ÿ˜‰ And the photo is not zoomed in, we were being stupid tourists standing so close haha.

This is the biggest lizard I’ve seen and it scares the shit out of my sister haha! They’re actually all over town but a bit smaller than this.

I’ve seen wallabys and pademelons but unfortunately no photos of them either. They’ve been jumping around in the national parks so it’s a bit hard to capture a photo of them ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t avoid photo of kangaroos either so I’m using one I took at Australia Zoo

At Fraser Island I got to see a Dingo which is quite rare! And it chased my sister ๐Ÿ˜‚ Not funny at all actually because it could have killed but she was hunted by everything when she was here haha.

At Stradbroke Island I saw a mummy koala and her baby โค it was adorable!!!!

Possums! Everywhere and nowhere. I don’t like them, big ugly rats that makes scary noises haha.

So, there are many, many, many birds here and I have no idea what they are called. But the ones I know are turkey, kookaburra and magpie (this bird attacks people during breeding season!). I don’t have photos of these.

Here’s a photo of a beautiful pelican I saw in Tin Can Bay ๐Ÿ™‚

Bats!! And they’re huuggeeeee (at least compared to the ones we have in Sweden). They’re flying around outside my window in the evenings huhu.

This is an Ibis. It’s all over Brisbane, walking around among humans and just enjoying life haha.

And finally beautiful parrots. These are from Mount Tamborine but just a week ago or so I almost got parrot poop in my face but was saved by a tree ๐Ÿ˜‚

I think this is it for now ๐Ÿ™‚ Still got 4 months to go so who knows what I’ll see. Hope you found this interesting! You should by the way google the jellyfish… it can hurt you so bad haha.

Bye bye!
